Getting To Where I Want to Be Some Day FaithHopeCharity 08:28:16 |
| | Paradise or My Heaven is the place in the Ever After where I would like to be eventually, and this site is for those interested to read about what information is available to living the way to reach that destination after this Earth.
Its aim is to make you think about the hope of reaching or attaining your paradise where all is peace and joy. There is no answer to the question of what happens to us after we die. However, there are glimpses of heaven from people who relate their near-death experience. Such a testimony is at: http://tinyurl.com/nrcrtm or http://useurl.us/3oc
For many people Heaven helps to make sense of our lives on Earth. It provides the comforting notion that our soul or spirit will continue on to another plane after its human existence. The hope of Heaven is therefore a hope for the future. Some people believe Heaven to be a real place, a wonderful reward for a good life lived on Earth. To reach it we must follow specific rules.
This site is thus dedicated to such people who willingly follow the given guidelines to ultimately reach their goal. To the spiritually inclined the BIBLE offers the best information, as in jest some may even refer to it as : Basic Information Before Leaving Earth *
To quote Thomas Moore and Lalla Rookh : "Take all the pleasures of the spheres, and multiply each through endless years - one minute of Heaven is worth them all."
With Peace and Blessings ======= If you believe in Christ, then here is what you can expect...
Jesus Welcomes A sick man turned to his doctor as he was preparing to leave the examination room and said, 'Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side.' Very quietly, the doctor said, 'I don't know.'
'You don't know? You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the other side?' The doctor was holding the handle of the door; on the other side came a sound of scratching and whining. And as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.
Turning to the patient, the doctor said, 'Did you notice my dog? He's never been in this room before. He didn't know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here, and when the door opened, he sprang in without fear. I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing.. I know my Master is there and that is enough.'

The Mayonnaise Jar FaithHopeCharity 05:07:07 |
| | When things in your life seem almost too much to handle; When 24 Hours in a day is not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and two cups of coffee.
A professor stood before his philosophy class with some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.
He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was..
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively, filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things - family, children, health, friends, and favorite passions – things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.
The sand is everything else -- the small stuff.
'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.
If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.
So...
Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play With your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner.
There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.
'Take care of the golf balls first -- the things that really matter..set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.
The professor smiled, 'I'm glad you asked'. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'
Please share this with other "Golf Balls" I juz did...
If we cannot add days to life, we can add life to days.

Who is the Susie in Your Life? FaithHopeCharity 16:55:44 |
| | Come with me to a third grade classroom..... There is a nine-year-old kid sitting at his desk and all of a sudden, there is a puddle between his feet and the front of his pants are wet. He thinks his heart is going to stop because he cannot possibly imagine how this has happened. It's never happened before, and he knows that when the boys find out he will never hear the end of it. When the girls find out, they'll never speak to him again as long as he lives.
The boy believes his heart is going to stop; he puts his head down and prays this prayer, 'Dear God, this is an emergency! I need help now! Five minutes from now I'm dead meat.'
He looks up from his prayer and here comes the teacher with a look in her eyes that says he has been discovered.
As the teacher is walking toward him, a class mate named Susie is carrying a goldfish bowl that is filled with water. Susie trips in front of the teacher and inexplicably dumps the bowl of water in the boy's lap.
The boy pretends to be angry, but all the while is saying to himself, 'Thank you, Lord! Thank you, Lord!'
Now all of a sudden, instead of being the object of ridicule, the boy is the object of sympathy. The teacher rushes him downstairs and gives him gym shorts to put on while his pants dry out. All the other children are on their hands and knees cleaning up around his desk. The sympathy is wonderful. But as life would have it, the ridicule that should have been his has been transferred to someone else - Susie.
She tries to help, but they tell her to get out. 'You've done enough, you klutz!'
Finally, at the end of the day, as they are waiting for the bus, the boy walks over to Susie and whispers, 'You did that on purpose, didn't you?' Susie whispers back, 'I wet my pants once too.'
May God help us see the opportunities that are always around us to do good..
Remember.....Just going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car..
Each and everyone one of us is going through tough times right now, but God is getting ready to bless you in a way that only He can. Keep the faith.
This prayer is powerful, and prayer is one of the best gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot of rewards. Let's continue to pray for one another.
The Prayer:
Father, I ask You to bless my friends, relatives and those that I care deeply for, who are reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of Your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them Your peace and mercy... Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through Your grace. Where there is need, I ask you to fulfill their needs. Bless their homes, families, finances, their goings and their comings.
Amen.

Why Go To Church? FaithHopeCharity 16:40:52 |
| | If you're spiritually dead, you won't want to read it. If you're spiritually curious, there is still hope!
A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday.
'I've gone for 30 years now,' he wrote, 'and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the priests are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all.'
This started a real controversy in the 'Letters to the Editor' column. ; Much to the delight of the editor, it went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:
'I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this... They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!'
When you are DOWN to nothing....God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual nourishment!

The Holy Alphabet FaithHopeCharity 08:52:49 |
| | Whoever came up with this one must have had some Divine guidance!
Although things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain
Continue in thanksgiving
Do not begin to blame
Even when times are hard
Fierce winds are bound to blow
God is forever able
Hold on to what you know
Imagine life without His love
Joy would cease to be
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts to thee
Move out of 'Camp Complaining'
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start every day with worship
To 'thank' is a command
Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude
Xalting God most high
Yes, there'll be good times and yes some will be bad, but...
Zion waits in glory...where none are ever sad!
'I am Too blessed to be stressed!'
The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor.
The one who kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything.
Love and peace be with you forever,
Amen.

** Principles of Life** FaithHopeCharity 09:06:22 |
| | No point using limited life to chase unlimited money.
No point earning so much money you cannot live to spend it.
Money is not yours until you spend it. When you are young, you use your health to chase your wealth; when you are old, you use your wealth to buy back your health. Difference is that, it is too late. How happy a man is, is not how much he has but how little he needs.
No point working so hard to provide for the people you have no time to spend with.

Excuse Me, Are You Jesus? FaithHopeCharity 08:41:26 |
| | A few years ago a group of salesmen went to a regional sales convention in Chicago. They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night's dinner. In their rush, with tickets and briefcases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of apples. Apples flew everywhere. Without stopping or looking back, they all managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly missed boarding.. ALL BUT ONE !!! He paused, took a deep breath, and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl whose apple stand had been overturned.
He told his buddies to go on without him, waved good-bye, told one of them to call his wife when they arrived at their home destination and explain his taking a later flight. Then he returned to the terminal where the apples were all over the terminal floor. He was glad he did. The 16 year old girl was totally blind! She was softly crying, tears running down her cheeks in frustration, and at the same time helplessly groping for her spilled produce as the crowd swirled about her; no one stopping and no one caring for her plight.
The salesman knelt on the floor with her, gathered up the apples, put them back on the table and helped organize her display. As he did this, he noticed that many of them had become battered and bruised; these he set aside in another basket.
When he had finished, he pulled out his wallet and said to the girl, 'Here, please take this $40 for the damage we did. Are you okay?' She nodded through her tears. He continued on with, 'I hope we didn't spoil your day too badly.' As the salesman started to walk away, the bewildered blind girl called out to him, 'Mister.......' He paused and turned to look back into those blind eyes. She continued, 'Are you Jesus?' He stopped in mid-stride, and he wondered. Then slowly he made his way to catch the later flight with that question burning and bouncing about in his soul: 'Are you Jesus?' Do people mistake you for Jesus? That's our Destiny, is it not? To be so much like Jesus that people cannot tell the difference as we live and interact with a world that is blind to His love, life and grace. If we claim to know Him, we should live, walk and act as He would. Knowing Him is more than simply quoting Scripture and going to church. It's actually living the Word as life unfolds day to day. You are the apple of His eye even though we, too, have been bruised by a fall. He stopped what He was doing and picked you and me up on a hill called Calvary and paid in full for our damaged fruit. Please share this.... Sometimes we just take things for granted, when we really need to be sharing what we know...Thanks GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

A Story on How To Practise LOVE FaithHopeCharity 09:19:54 |
| | I was at the corner grocery store buying some early potatoes. I noticed a small boy, delicate of bone and feature, ragged but clean, hungrily apprising a basket of freshly picked green peas. I paid for my potatoes but was also drawn to the display of fresh green peas. I am a pushover for creamed peas and new potatoes. Pondering the peas, I couldn't help overhearing the conversation between Mr. Miller (the store owner) and the ragged boy next to me. Hello Barry, how are you today?' 'H'lo, Mr. Miller. Fine, thank ya. Jus' admirin' them peas. They sure look good. They are good, Barry. How's your Ma?' Fine.. Gittin' stronger alla' time..' Good. Anything I can help you with?' No, Sir. Jus' admirin' th em peas.' Would you like to take some home?' asked Mr.Miller No, Sir. Got nuthin' to pay for 'em with.' Well, what have you to trade me for some of those peas?' All I got's my prize marble here.' 'Is that right? Let me see it' said Miller. Here 'tis.. She's a dandy.' 'I can see that. Hmm mmm, only thing is this one is blue and I sort of go for red. Do you have a red one like this at home?' the store owner asked. 'Not zackley but almost.' 'Tell you what. Take this sack of peas home with you and next trip this way let me look at that red marble'. Mr. Miller told the boy. 'Sure will. Thanks Mr. Miller.' Mrs. Miller, who had been standing nearby, came over to help me. With a smile she said, 'There are two other boys like him in our community, all three are in very poor circumstances. Jim just loves to bargain with them for peas, apples, tomatoes, or whatever. When they come back with their red marbles, and they always do, he decides he doesn't like red after all and he sends them home with a bag of produce for a green marble or an orange one, when they come on their next trip to the store.
I left the store smiling to myself, impressed with this man. A short time later I moved to Colorado, but I never forgot the story of this man, the boys, and their bartering for marbles. Several years went by, each more rapid than the previous one. Just recently I had occasion to visit some old friends in that Idaho community and while I was there learned that Mr. Miller had died. They were having his visitation that evening and knowing my friends wanted to go, I agreed to accompany them. Upon arrival at the mortuary we fell into line to meet the relatives of the deceased and to offer whatever words of comfort we could.
Ahead of us in line were three young men. One was in an army uniform and the other two wore nice haircuts, dark suits and white shirts...all very professional looking. They approached Mrs. Miller, standing composed and smiling by her husband's casket. Each of the young men hugged her, kissed her on the cheek, spoke briefly with her and moved on to the casket. Her misty light blue eyes followed them as, one by one, each young man stopped briefly and placed his own warm hand over the cold pale hand in the casket. Each left the mortuary awkwardly, wiping his eyes. Our turn came to meet Mrs. Miller. I told her who I was and reminded her of the story from those many years ago and what she had told me about her husband's bartering for marbles. With her eyes glistening, she took my hand and led me to the casket. Those three young men who just left were the boys I told you about. They just told me how they appreciated the things Jim 'traded' them. Now, at last, when Jim could not change his mind about color or size....they came to pay their debt.' 'We've never had a great deal of the wealth of this world,' she confided, but right now, Jim would consider himself the richest man in Idaho ..' With loving gentleness she lifted the lifeless fingers of her deceased husband. Resting underneath were three exquisitely shined red marbles. *** The Moral: We will not be remembered by our words, but by our kind deeds. Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath. IT'S NOT WHAT YOU GATHER, BUT WHAT YOU SCATTER THAT TELLS WHAT KIND OF LIFE YOU HAVE LIVED!
Today I wish you a day of ordinary miracles A fresh pot of coffee you didn't make yourself... An unexpected phone call from an old friend .... Green stoplights on your way to work... The fastest line at the grocery store... A good sing-along song on the radio... Your keys found right where you left them.

A Letter From God FaithHopeCharity 15:42:33 |
| | Here is a reminder from Our Loving Father, through kind courtesy of Brother Rajiv, prompted by the Holy Spirit; to be read specially during troubled times.
My dear beloved child, * I want to let you know how much I love and believe in you. My child, I made you in my same image and likeness. I can count every single strand of hair on your head. I know your every thought and word even before you think of it. My child, I have a secret for you. I have something planned for you to do for me while you are here. I have blessed you with so many talents that you will be able to bring my lost children back to me. My other children are hurt, sad and in pain. You are to be my sign to them. You are going to be my sign to them. You are going to be my messenger of my love and compassion. I know what is in your mind right now. What are you supposed to do? Do you have a mission in this world? Oh yes, my child. You definitely do. You may not believe me when I say this, but right now, I am strengthening you for this work. * My child, do not be afraid of anything. My Son, Jesus, He was afaid that lonely Thursday night. He was scared and worried but do you remember what His words were in the garden? “Father, let your will be done and not mine” Don't be frightened my dear child. That warm feeling in your heart is me comforting you. If ever you feel afraid, just look at my Son on the cross. He did not care how He looked nor did He care about what He possessed. All He cared about was you. Just like Jesus, just whisper these words every day, slowly, “Father, into your hands, I commit my spirit”. * I will work wonders with you that the world has never seen. I have always loved you and I will always love you forever for you are my beloved child. * Yours sincerely, God

I wandered lonely as a cloud, That floats on high o'er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. Continuous as the stars that shine, And twinkle on the milky way, They stretched in never-ending line, Along the margin of a bay: Ten thousand saw I at a glance, Tossing their heads in sprightly dance. The waves beside them danced, but they out-did the sparkling leaves in glee; A poet could not be but gay, In such a jocund company! I gazed—and gazed—but little thought, What wealth the show to me had brought: For oft, when on my couch I lie, In vacant or in pensive mood, They flash upon that inward eye, Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils.
Wishing Everyone Peace & Love this Happy Easter 2009

Start a Smiling Pandemic FaithHopeCharity 14:11:17 |
| | A SMILE can go a looong way......
Smiling is infectious; you catch it like the flu When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too I passed around the corner, and someone saw my grin When he smiled I realised I'd passed it on to him I thought about that smile then I realised its worth, A single smile, just like mine, could travel round the earth. So, if you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected, Let's start an epidemic quick, and get the world infected!
Enjoy some Holy Hour Humour and Smile
There was a very gracious lady who was mailing an old family Bible to her brother in another part of the country. "Is there anything breakable in here?" asked the postal clerk. "Only the Ten Commandments." answered the lady.
Somebody has said there are only two kinds of people in the world. There are those who wake up in the morning and say, "Good morning, Lord," and there are those who wake up in the morning and say, "Good Lord, it's morning."
Give me a sense of humor, Lord, Give me the grace to see a joke, To get some humor out of life, And pass it on to other folk!

Abundance and Charity FaithHopeCharity 11:07:31 |
| | "The thief's only purpose in coming is to steal, to slaughter and destroy. (Jesus said) I have come so they may have life and have it abundantly" - John 10:10 ++ A successful American by the name of Jeff Johnson teaches about wealth and gives training on how to obtain it at his site: http://www.abundantwealth.com. He also provides factual answers to two insigntful questions :
Q1. Is Abundant Wealth a religious organization? A. Many of the principles we teach are found in the Bible. We make reference to many scriptures throughout our website and in our educational materials. These scriptures form the foundation of what we teach. There are many financial teachings in the Bible and they have been used by the wealthy for thousands of years. There are many scriptures that favor money and they teach us, for example, about borrowing, lending, giving, and interest. There are also many teachings on what not to do, like not to love money. The Bible does not teach us that it is wrong to be wealthy, in fact, the Bible teaches us how to prosper. We believe wealth encompasses both spiritual and financial aspects. We will address issues such as tithing and giving as we believe this is an important part of any overall wealth building plan. Take a moment to think about the wealthiest people you know. Now ask yourself, do they give their time and money to others? Yes! Giving is an integral part of the wealthy person.
Q2. I just inherited a great deal of money. How could this help me? A. History has taught us those who are given or inherit money are at a high risk of 'spending it away' and in ending right back in the same financial situation in a few short years. There are many high profile athletes or lottery winners whom at one time had literally millions that end up in financial distress or even bankruptcy. What if these people had known the financial rules of the wealthy and applied those rules when they had those millions? They would be more wealthy than they could imagine, and think of the blessings their community lost out on, all because they didn't know what to do. There is a huge difference between rich and wealthy. The lottery winner is rich for a period, and whether he becomes wealthy or poor depends on what he does with the lottery winnings.
NOTE: Many people believe in the saying that 'Charity begins at home', but the church teaches that we should always be charitable towards others who are less fortunate than ourselves.
A well-known spiritual saying states – "Give, and you shall receive in abundance" - so if you are rich or become wealthy do not forget to start to give and a place you could go to is at : http://www.kiva.org where for a small sum of money you will add to the wellbeing of a family that needs help in a third-world country.

A Joke About Catholic Horses FaithHopeCharity 07:58:33 |
| | One day while he was at the track playing the ponies and all but losing his shirt, Mitch noticed a priest who stepped out onto the track and blessed the forehead of one of the horses lining up for the 4th race. Lo and behold, that horse - a very long shot - won the race.
Before the next race, as the horses began lining up, Mitch watched with interest the old priest step onto the track. Sure enough, as the 5th race horses came to the starting gate the priest made a blessing on the forehead of one of the horses.
Mitch made a beeline for a betting window and placed a small bet on the horse. Again, even though it was another long shot, the horse the priest had blessed won the race. Mitch collected his winnings, and anxiously waited to see which horse the priest would bless for the 6th race. The priest again blessed a horse. Mitch bet big on it, and it won. Mitch was elated. As the races continued the priest kept blessing long shot horses, and each one ended up coming in first.
Bye and bye, Mitch was pulling in some serious money. By the last race, he knew his wildest dreams were going to come true. He made a quick dash to the ATM, withdrew all his savings, and awaited the priest's blessing that would tell him which horse to bet on.
True to his pattern, the priest stepped onto the track for the last race and blessed the forehead of an old nag that was the longest shot of the day. Mitch also observed the priest blessing the eyes, ears, and hooves of the old nag. Mitch knew he had a winner and bet every cent he owned on the old nag. He then watched dumbfounded as the old nag come in dead last. Mitch, in a state of shock, made his way down to the track area where the priest was.
Confronting the old priest he demanded, 'Father! What happened? All day long you blessed horses and they all won. Then in the last race, the horse you blessed lost by a Kentucky mile. Now, thanks to you I've lost every cent of my savings - all of it!'.
The priest nodded wisely and with sympathy. 'Son,' he said, 'that's the problem with you Protestants, you can't tell the difference between a simple blessing and the last rites.'

People who always complain about what they Don't Have, stay stuck. Complainers attract more things to complain about! It is a Law of Life!
It is hard to explain, but you can observe it around you. We get more of what we dwell upon. That is why all the spiritual masters have taught the same lesson ....
"Start by being thankful. Be happy with what you have now, and more will come your way." It is practical advice for you to pay attention to.
Every time you say a silent 'Thank You' you become more peaceful, have more happiness and power.
The way to happiness is to keep your heart free from hate and your mind from worry.
Live simply, expect little, give much. Fill your life with love. Scatter sunshine, Forget self, Think of others
Do as you would be done by. Try this for a week and you will be surprised.
What we need is a purpose which can be expressed in some tangible and concrete way.
We find our happiness in caring for our families, in achieving mastery of our trades, business or professions. Any purpose is healthy so long as it meets the demands of our mental and spiritual natures, and so long as it does not call on us to abuse our instincts; to give more than we have or sell ourselves short.
Go the extra mile!
Make the most of the here and now for positive, purposeful living; put your ideals into practice today. The people who really find life worth living are those who know exactly what they want to do with their lives, and do it.

I Prayed for You Today by Donna Fargo FaithHopeCharity 06:57:01 |
| | I prayed for you today, gave thanks for your life, wished you the best, asked the heavens to bless you with good health and happiness.
I sent you good thoughts, surrounded you with hope and faith and love. I asked your guardian angels to protect you and keep you safe from any harm and to blanket you with joy and contentment and peace and prosperity.
I prayed for you today. I asked that you be guided with wisdom to make choices to enhance your life and the awareness to make changes that are in your best interest. I wished for you a storehouse of opportunities, the ability to meet your goals, and the joy of your own approval and acceptance.
I wished for you your heart's desire, every need met, every prayer answered, and every dream come true.
I prayed for you today. I asked that you be prepared for whatever life hands you or whatever you're going through. I asked that your spirit be strong and lead you and guide you each step of the way down the path you take. I asked the universe to confirm for you that you are someone very special. I asked the earth to be good to you, and I asked God to show you his perfect way.
I prayed for you today.
